Extra Monetization Methods For An Existing Website
Anybody can create a website and put it online, and even work hard to drive targeted traffic to it. All of that aside, it’s the making money part that usually throws people for a loop.
Now, to be sure, there are tons of ways to make money online; but if you lack adequate knowledge then there’s going to be a problem. Impatience to make money is one of the primary root causes of online failure, and so it is really important to do some investigating about anything you want to use. You need to consider what your market audience wants, and once you’re satisfied that they could, or will, be ok with what you want to do, then it’s a green light. So with that said, we’re going to take a closer look at 3 monetization methods that have already by proven effective by other marketers.
Even if you aren’t familiar with the term “contextual advertising,” you have certainly seen this very popular monetization method. Google ads are the most popular type of contextual ad, and to place these on your site you only have to sign up with Google AdSense and paste a code on your website. These ads enable you to get paid for every click, and they are related to the content of the page on which they appear. Contextual advertising is a good way to monetize your site without much effort, but you will need a fair amount of traffic to provide you with the clicks you need. Get a strong pair of clic reading glasses and pay attention to these tips.
The next method we’ll discuss is using RSS ads. RSS feeds, Really Simple Syndication, is nothing new online, and it provides another means to get your content out there, and of course it didn’t take online marketers long to figure out how to monetize it.
For example, Feedburner has a network for publishers, and you can use their service to accomplish this if you want. It’s no cost to join, and their ads and monetization are based on CPM, cost per thousand.
Automatic Pay Per Play advertising is yet a newer monetization approach that plays a brief ad as someone arrives for the first time on your site. It never hurts to be open about trying/testing new forms of advertising or monetization, and that’s the story with this one because it is new to IM.
This only lightly scratches the surface of all the monetization methods businesses use. It’s smart to try to build your business and include as many ways to generate revenue as possible, so keep a look-out for them. Online business and marketing is highly fluid and dynamic; so it’s really a good idea to keep building and adding on to what you’re doing.
