For so long a immense number of webmasters and SEOs have been only optimising their web site for Google, Google has basically been the king when it comes to driving traffic and getting top organic rankings for your company could potentially earn you a lot of revenue and exposure.

The two other big names in the search world have been Yahoo and Microsoft, but no one has really taken the effort to actually optimise their sites for these because there is simply not enough benefits.

The recent announcement that Bing will be powering all of Yahoos searches and be able to access their engineering science is going to shape the SEO industry up in so many different ways then before.

I know a lot of people are saying that Yahoo only has a small percentage of searches anyway and that it will not really affect Google. But what you really have to look at is the bigger picture, I mean we have already seen Microsoft launch a million dollar advertising campaign for Bing.

But what is actually the most interesting thing is what Microsoft is actually going to get out of this all, they will be able to use Yahoo’s technology. Now we all know that Microsoft are terrible at analysing natural links and citations, so having a helping hand from Yahoo and continuing with the massive advertising budget could well see Bing take some of Googles market share over the next coming years.

It would be a real shame if you are not optimising your websites for Bing, as there are benefits to be had as its not that competitive. Concentrate on things such keyword density in the title, content and structure. For some sites that maybe acquiring quite a bit of traffic from Yahoo, the switchover may well see you lose some worthful traffic, particularly if you do not begin optimising your site(s) for Bing.

For some of the most outstanding web design
